It is a pleasure to welcome you to a new school year at John Burroughs Middle School. Whether your school year is successful or not, is really up to you. It is important that John Burroughs’ students exemplify our school motto, which is: to win honorably, to lose gracefully, and to cooperate generously. By doing this, we can ensure a successful school year. Another way to ensure a successful school year is to listen and to obey the school’s rules and regulations, and to follow the guidance of the administrative staff and teachers. it is extremely important that you get off to a good start. Although some of the sixth graders might have a tough time getting used to middle school, we are positive and encouraged that you will overcome that. For those students that are seventh graders, you not only set examples for the sixth graders but you also have to prepare to take on more responsibilities. And last, but certainly not least, the students that are eighth graders are our primary examples, so it is important that you set good examples and incite other students to follow your good example. Remember that the success of this school year is in your hands. We look forward to a great year!
